Restored Ranch to Boxwood Cottage: The Heart Behind Our Home

What began as a temporary stop, a simple ranch house we planned to stay in “just for now”, has slowly, steadily, and lovingly become Boxwood Cottage. It’s hard to believe how far this home has come, and even harder to imagine our lives anywhere else.

Every corner of this house has been reimagined, not just in structure but in purpose and heart. What was once a basic floor plan with little character has grown into a warm, layered space that reflects the rhythm of our daily life and the love we’ve poured into it.

One of the most transformative changes was turning our old garage into a cozy, inviting living space. What started as a concrete shell is now one of the most used and loved rooms in our home, filled with natural light, thoughtful details, and pieces that tell our story.

We also reworked what used to be our outdoor porch, enclosing it and creating a charming sitting area that now feels like an extension of our living room. It's a quiet, sunny spot that has become a favorite for slow mornings or an afternoon coffee. It’s hard to believe that area was once outside the house entirely.

Throughout the home, each room tells a piece of the story… from the antique touches in the dining room to the heart of the home: our kitchen. It’s a space where everyday moments happen, where meals are shared, and where I’ve watched my daughters grow. It has seen so much life and love and change—and now holds a character that only time and intention can build.

Boxwood Cottage isn’t just a name; it’s a reflection of what this home has become. A place rooted in comfort, creativity, and care. Restoring it wasn’t just about renovations, but it was about creating a space that feels deeply like us.

We’re so grateful for the journey, and even more grateful to call this place home.
