MEET ASHLEY HARDISON
FIG is the dream and creation of Ashley Hardison. Raised in a home of a general contractor, Ashley loved the excitement that floor plans, design and site visits brought to everyday life. Her childhood home was constantly being tweaked, renovated, and added to in order to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing space. For Ashley’s family, home was a place to make memories, to rest and to entertain friends and family. In each stage of life, Ashley enjoyed her mother and father’s commitment to love and serve their friends and family by cultivating a loving environment filled with meaningful details. All of the visits to auctions, flea markets, and antique shops with her family developed her love for all things home and she began dreaming of one day starting her own company based on the foundation her parents gave. From the encouragement of friends, family, and her husband Mark, her dream has become a reality. Now Ashley gets to draw on this inspiration her upbringing provided and create similar meaningful experiences to her clients through designing excellent spaces for her clients to thrive.
BEHIND THE NAME
From the beginning Ashley desired to name the company something filled with personal meaning as she hoped that this company would be an extension of who she is and what is important to her. As she began the process of praying about what the name would be, she kept coming back to family. She knew that even though she would be the chief operator, this was going to be a family business. With the continual love, support, and help of her husband Mark (Fenton) and daughters (Isabella & Georgia) she saw that she could not create or operate the company without them. She took their initials, F-I-G , and the name was born. In addition to this, her Faith In God was the foundation for this dream becoming a reality.
To become productive, a fig tree takes time to cultivate and nurture. Fruitful maturity indicates that a gardener has been continuously and steadfastly there, tending to its growth over the years. This is true in the design process. It doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time and attention to instill into the project the foresight and knowledge to make the end outcome something to enjoy. Ashley brings this kind of foresight, attention to detail and determined diligence to her work in order to create spaces and opportunities for clients to thrive and enjoy their space, whether a room, home, or business.
